- Experience Monteverde’s cloud forest from above with the Monteverde: Sky Walk, Sky Tram & Sky Trek Ziplining Tour through Get Your Guide. Start your adventure with the Sky Walk, where you’ll explore suspension bridges and trails while spotting unique flora and fauna. Next, ride the Sky Tram through the forest, pausing to take in stunning views of Arenal, Tenorio, Miravalles, and Orosi Volcanoes. If the weather permits, you may also catch sight of the Nicoya Gulf and Guanacaste Plain. Finish with the Sky Trek, a thrilling zip line course over 2.5 miles. You’ll reach speeds of 40 mph and soar to heights of 524 feet. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views from five observation towers, and for an extra adrenaline rush, try the Sky Trek Vertigo drop.

Personal Blog
Monteverde was the second stop on our Costa Rica adventure, and what an experience it was! The journey there was bumpy. The winding, narrow roads with a few potholes made for a bit of a rough ride, but once we arrived at our hotel, we knew it was all worth it. Monteverde had been on our bucket list for a while. So many travelers recommended it as a must-visit in Costa Rica, and now we understand why.
Our first day in Monteverde was all about immersing ourselves in nature. We started by exploring the famous cloud forest, which was magical. The cool, misty air mixed with the sounds of exotic birds and rustling leaves created a mystical atmosphere. Even though it rained—fitting for a cloud forest—it only added to the experience. The greenery felt even more alive, with raindrops glistening on the emerald leaves.
We were amazed by the variety of plant life, especially the orchids. Coming from California’s dry landscape, the lush greenery was a refreshing change. The cloud forest was alive with colorful butterflies and curious hummingbirds. The butterfly garden felt like a living rainbow, with delicate creatures displaying their vivid patterns.
After a bit of exploring, we decided to try a local staple—casados. If you haven’t had a casado before, it’s a traditional Costa Rican meal with rice, beans, plantains, and salad. The flavors were incredible—hearty, savory, and comforting.
Monteverde gave us everything we hoped for—lush nature, delicious food, and a peaceful escape. The misty forests, vibrant wildlife, and warm hospitality made it unforgettable. It’s more than a destination; it’s a feeling that stays with you for a lifetime.
